We are pleased to return to St Martin in the Fields, with our Associate Musical Director Quintin Beer, for a candlelight concert as part of the Brandenburg Choral Festival of London. Our programme ranges from the English Renaissance to 20th-century America, bookended by three masterworks of the European Baroque.
The joy and serenity of motets by William Byrd contrast with the plangent beauty of Samuel Barber’s Agnus Dei – a choral setting of his famous Adagio for strings. Johann Sebastian Bach combines dancing exuberance with firm conviction in two motets that frame this first half of the concert. The second part of our programme features Vivaldi’s sparkling Gloria, accompanied by the Brandenburg Baroque Soloists.
Tickets priced £34 (premium) £30 £27 £20 £15 £9 can be booked online or by calling the St Martin’s box office at 020 7766 1100.
