Pegasus performed a concert in aid of the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice, Farnham, on World Hospice Day.

The performance was part of Voices for Hospice, a global bi-annual event raising awareness and funds for hospice and palliative care.

Pegasus Choir’s programme included Allegri’s famous Miserere and Mendelssohn’s equally renowned Hear My Prayer, as well as works by British composers Purcell, Gibbons, Vaughan Williams and Francis Grier.

Excerpts from Frank Martin’s voluptuous Mass for Double Choir were complemented by two serene and moving motets by William Harris, setting the visionary poetry of Edmund Spenser (Faire is the Heaven) and John Donne (Bring Us, O Lord God).
