To celebrate the 300th anniversary of the first performance of Acis and Galatea, Pegasus joins the London Handel Orchestra and vocal soloists Lucy Page, Nick Pritchard, Ed Grint and Jorge Navarro Colorado for a full staging of Handel’s popular pastoral opera. The bittersweet story, taken from Ovid’s Metamorphoses, tells of the love between the shepherd Acis and sea-nymph Galatea, thwarted by the jealous giant Polyphemus.

Laurence Cummings (conductor) and Martin Parr (director) conjure up an Arcadian world of glades and bowers in a performance that will  embrace the grandeur as well as the intimacy of St John’s Smith Square.
