Pegasus were thrilled to return to Tilford Bach Society where they performed a summer concert at Farnham Castle.
The programme highlighted the rich European tradition of unaccompanied, part-song writing. English and French composers in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries looked back to the richness of secular music in the Renaissance for inspiration; many of the composers whose works Pegasus sang also used texts from this period, including settings of Shakespeare. The concert began with pieces from the mid-nineteenth century and explored the development of writing for a capella voices right up to the present day.
