On Saturday 14 May 2016, Pegasus performed Claudio Monteverdi’s monumental Vespers of the Blessed Virgin, more commonly known as the Vespers of 1610. Combining hymns, psalms and motets, joyful dance-like music and solemn spectacle, the Vespers was an unprecedented work 400 years ago.

Pegasus had its beginning as a choir formed to give a performance of the Vespers in London, and the choir were delighted to have had the opportunity to present this great piece again in their 21st anniversary year.
